Last Thursday the 8th of March was of course International Women’s Day. Youth Train’s girls and women joined with our neighbours YouthReach and Rehab Care to celebrate the day whilst our boys teamed up with the men and boys from Rehab Care for a competitive pool tournament. Madeleine Quirke, retiring C.E.O. of the Chamber of Commerce shared her story with us – a heartwarming message of the power of hard work and positive thinking – thank you so much Madeleine. We ate cakes, watched a slide-show depicting female identities, we sang songs and Aine did our make-up. Our raffle earned a substantial amount of money for the Women’s Refuge. Thanks to the local businesses who sponsored the prizes.
